SOM-uQ7-MX6 is a Qseven® Rel. 2.0 compliant module that offers top computational and graphical performances given by low-power consuming Arm architecture. The board is based on i.MX 6 processor, integrating a multicore Cortex® A9 Arm Core (up to Quad Core processors), ideal for applications requiring multimedia capabilities and/or high levels of parallel computing. All this comes in the μQseven® form factor, just 40x70mm.
For ordering purposes, the SOM-uQ7-MX6 is referred to by its base code, “962”.

What will I find in my module?
Off-the-shelf products are shipped with a standard in-house-developed software.
The definition of standard, in this case, is “the environment which SECO adopts for validation”.
Anyway, custom in-house-developed software with different defaults can be built.

Edgehog OS
Starting from Linux Kernel version 5.10, the Board Support Package (BSP) for this board is fully integrated within Edgehog OS, the operating system for the All-In-One IIot platform CLEA developed by SECO and based on Yocto. Edgehog OS is intended to provide the highest standards in terms of security and stability thanks to features like OTA (Over the Air) updates, double partitions, and fallback procedures. Edgehog OS integrates a Device Manager to communicate with the Cloud and allows a family of products to be managed as a fleet.

The source code for Edgehog OS can be found at the following Gitlab organization. To build a complete BSP image from source, you can follow the readme of the repo manifest.
