How to deploy Windows 10 IoT Enterprise to Trizeps VIII Mini / Trizeps VIII Plus
To deploy a new Windows 10 IoT Enterprise Image to the Trizeps VIII Mini or Trizeps VIII Plus first download the latest Windows 10 IoT Enterprise Image from this website and deploy the downloaded .imz-File to an SD-Card with a capacity of at least 8 GB.
This can be done with the USB Image Tool.
The image contains the Windows PE (Preinstallation Environment) as well as the files necessary to install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise on the eMMC of your device.
Be aware that you will not be able to install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise on a device with less than 16 GB of eMMC storage capacity. We recommend using modules with 32GB eMMCs.
To deploy Windows 10 IoT Enterprise simply insert the SD-Card in the SD-Card-Slot on your baseboard and power up the device. Instead of booting into Windows it will boot into the WinPE environment and install the latest version of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Simply follow the instructions on the screen and remove the SD Card and restart the device when prompted.
The setup will be finalized automatically after first booting into Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. This process can take a couple of minutes.
In order to use Windows 10 IoT Enterprise you need a specific bootloader that contains hardware information used by Windows. If you are already using an (older) version of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise you will already have a working version of that bootloader and likely will not have to update the bootloader.
Trizeps8Mini modules with eMMC
Applying the firmware to Trizeps8Mini modules with eMMC is described here.
Trizeps8Mini / Trizeps8Plus modules with SD card socket
The installation process is slightly different for modules with SD card sockets, since the drive gets formatted during the installation in WinPE.
Apply Bootloader to SD card
Copy the required firmware file (e.g. firmware.tr8m_v3r1.bin) to a linux machine and apply it to your SD card with dd:
Trizeps8Mini: (33KB Offset)sudo dd if=path\to\firmware.tr8m_v3r1_2gb_20240409or .bin of=/dev/sdN bs=512 seek=66
Trizeps8Plus: (32KB Offset)
sudo dd if=path\to\firmware.tr8p_v1r4_2gb_20240410.bin of=/dev/sdN bs=512 seek=64
Use the “lsblk” command to figure out the drive number.
Install Windows in WinPE like on a module with eMMC.
Reapply the Bootloader the same way as before.
Boot into Windows and finalize the installation
